Daniel and I went through several miscarriages before we decided to get very serious about trying to having a baby. My current OB told me it was normal for a 21 to experience all I had gone through and we knew it was time for me to go to a different OB. That is when I met Dr.Dameron. What a wonderful lady she is. Within 20 min of my first appt she knew exactly what was wrong and started me on fertility meds. It was a very long 6 months of pills and shots and dr appt before we finally got pregnant with our little miracle!
I had to get some blood work done and Dr. Dameron told me I had low progesterone. The stuff that helps the placenta grow and attach to the uterus and support the baby. I had to make medicine for that which made me super sick. The plus side of it though was I had to go in every 2 weeks for an ultrasound! :)

I'M A BOY!! |
On October the 1st my mom came up to be here for Hayden's birth. My aunts also came up and they decided they were going to walk Hayden right out of me. We went to the mall on Sunday and it must have worked because we sat down to play a card game and I was having contractions and they kept getting stronger and closer together so we went to the hospital. And it was true! I was in labor. Contractions every 6 min apart and really strong. Unfortunately Hayden's heart rate wasn't what it was supposed it be (We had been having problems with his heart rate and had been monitored twice a week to keep an eye on it) so the nurse had me roll on my side and the contractions slowed and weren't strong anymore. So we ended up being sent home.
That Tuesday I had a Dr. appointment and I was scheduled for an induction that night! We were all so excited and got things together to get ready to go have a baby! About 9 o'clock that night I got a call from the nurse saying they were full and I wouldn't be having the induction that night. I was devastated. When I went back to the Dr. on Friday I was rescheduled for an induction the following Tuesday.
Unfortunately my mom had to leave that Monday. I had a Dr. appointment the morning of my induction and I was planning on telling her to cancel the induction that we were just going to wait until Hayden was ready. Unfortunately that wouldn't happen because my fluids were too low to wait. So Daniel and I planned on having a baby the next day! We went home and got ready and made our way to the hospital around 11:45 that night.
The nurses knew me so they got me right in and started the pitocin not 15 min after I was checked in! At 3am Dr.Dameron came in to break my water. She had a really hard time because my fluids were so low. It took her 6 tries and she finally had to use an internal monitor to break it and put the monitor in Hayden's head.
The contraction came hard and fast after that. Around 8am the contractions were really strong and I was in a lot of pain, particularly around my hip. So in came the anesthesiologist with the epidural.
My friend HollyAnn came around 0900 and stayed with me until Hayden was born. The day went very slowly. I was completely numb from the middle of my chest down so the nurse and Daniel and HollyAnn had to do everything for me. Every time I was turned on my right side or back I would get very sick so I pretty much stayed on my left side the whole day.
At 8pm it was finally time to push!! So exciting!! I tried several different methods of pushing but Hayden just didn't want to come. My OB was delivering another baby at a different hospital so she didn't get to the hospital until around 9pm. By that time my epidural had worn off and all I felt was extreme pain like my hip was being pushed out of socket. I couldn't stop screaming. I remember the nurse coming in and telling me to be quiet because I was scaring the other patients. My OB came in and found Hayden was turned sideways and was stuck. She got the anesthesiologist to come back in and give me a small dose of meds to help keep the pain in check.
Dr. Dameron turned Hayden and I continued to push. I had 3 nurses, my OB, and a tech in my room plus HollyAnn and Daniel it was very crowded. Hayden's heart rate started going up and I started having problems with my temperature. Dr. Dameron decided Hayden needed to come out right then. She got the forceps and pulled him out. She had to use so much force that she stumbled backwards when his head popped out.
Hayden Eli Meyer was born on Wednesday October 12th 2011 at 11:13pm
Daniel got to cut the cord and then Hayden was rushed to the incubator. He needed oxygen because he was having a hard time breathing. He had passed meconium before his head came out and it looked like he inhaled some. While Dr. Dameron stitched up my fourth degree tear the nurse took care of Hayden.
I got to hold him after about 45 min and only for about 2 min before he had to go to the nursery. He got an i.v. and medicine and x-rays and was put under an oxygen hood.
I finally got to go to the nursery around 6am and see my baby for the first time since he had been born. Unfortunately I could not hold him until several hours later. Around 11am I was finally able to hold and kiss my baby and nurse him. After that he got to come and stay in our room.
He had to stay in the hospital until Saturday afternoon to receive meds and for the nurses to keep an eye on him but he finally got to come home when he was 4 days old.
